4:00 PM: Check In and Settle In

After the drive, take some time to unpack and explore your vacation rental. 

Pour a drink, claim your favorite seat on the deck, let the kids check out the backyard, or jump right into the pool if your property has one. If you're staying somewhere with a hot tub, fire pit, or lake views, now is the perfect time to enjoy it. 

Vacation starts the moment you arrive.

5:30 PM: Explore a Harbor Country Town

Before dinner, head out for a little exploring. 

Browse the boutiques and shops in New Buffalo, wander through the charming downtown of Three Oaks, or take a scenic drive through Union Pier and Harbert. Each town has its own personality, and part of the fun is discovering your favorite. 

Don't worry about fitting everything in. Harbor Country is best enjoyed at a slower pace.

7:00 PM: Grab Dinner at a Local Favorite

After a day of travel, keep things easy and enjoy dinner at one of Harbor Country's local restaurants.

8:30 PM: Catch a Lake Michigan Sunset

If there's one thing you should do on your first night, it's watch the sunset over Lake Michigan.

• Townline Beach in Union Pier

• Weko Beach in Bridgman 

Bring a blanket, kick off your shoes, and enjoy the show. No two sunsets are ever the same, and it's one of the reasons visitors return to Harbor Country year after year.

8:00 AM: Start the Morning Slow

Wake up without an alarm and enjoy a relaxed start to the day. 
Make coffee at your vacation rental or head out to one of our favorite local spots:

• Infusco Coffee Roasters in Sawyer
• Luisa's Café in Harbert Grab a coffee, enjoy breakfast, and ease into the morning. 

After all, you're on vacation.

10:00 AM: Hit the Beach

Now it's time to experience one of Harbor Country's biggest attractions: Lake Michigan. 

Spend the morning swimming, relaxing in the sand, hunting for beach glass, or simply soaking up the lake views.

• Cherry Beach
• Weko Beach
• Warren Dunes State Park

12:30 PM: Explore More of Southwest Michigan

After a morning at the beach, spend the afternoon discovering more of what makes Harbor Country such a beloved destination. 

A few local favorites include:

• Hiking the trails and climbing the dunes at Warren Dunes State Park

• Visiting Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks
• Sampling local wines at one of Southwest Michigan's wineries

• Walking the canopy trail at Galien River County Park
• Browsing local farmers markets and roadside stands
