August 7 – 9, 2026: Michigan’s longest yard sale held every year during the second week of August is on U.S. 12 from New Buffalo to Detroit. The highway, the nation’s second-oldest, stretches along an old Native American trail. It is one of 16 Michigan Heritage Routes, designated by the State Legislature to preserve its historic highways. The historic Ship & Shore Festival has been reimagined as the Ship & Shore Blues & Soul Festival, featuring two days of live blues and soul music, delicious local food, Michigan craft beer and wine, and family-friendly fun along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Enjoy performances from talented regional artists beginning at 1:00 p.m. each day, browse food vendors including La Patrona, Prize Pig Barbecue, and Cabo Ice Cream, and relax with friends and family in a beautiful waterfront setting. Bring your lawn chairs and settle in for an unforgettable end-of-summer celebration.
