Bluebird Beach House

Terrific beach home that's literally minutes from the steps down to the perfect sand and exquisite waters of Lake Michigan, as well as a 5-min walk to local convenience store, ice-cream shop and a great restaurant. Was the perfect spot for a week with our two kids (aged 7 & 11) as well as our dog, who loved roaming the fenced-in yard. Even had my parents come stay one night and was enough space (bedrooms a bit on smaller side, but perfect size for sleeping). The screened in porch was a true delight and where we spent the most of our time. Miss it already. Would absolutely go back!

We were happy to assist and for some reason, the room gets a bit chillier than the rest. We did just purchase a permanent solution for the room to make sure everyone stays warm and comfortable. Come back again!

This area is so so charming! We were there in early October and the leaves were starting to change and the neighborhood is sweet and walkable to beach and bakery, market and cafes. Really lovely. I had a few upkeep recommendations I sent to the owner and they responded quickly and assured it would be tended to asap. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The location is great if you’re looking for something peaceful and also driving distance to Three Oaks New Buffalo or Sawyer for more activity. The biggest winner was my dog who had a chance to be in a fenced in yard or lounging in the screened porch.

Very cozy and spacious for a 3 bedroom cottage. Large screened in porch to enjoy and relax after spending time playing in the water. Location was perfect. Ample parking was available as we had family arriving separately. Short walk to either the beach access, morning coffee or ice cream after dinner. We have added this home to our favorite list.

Third Coast was very easy to work with and super communicative. I appreciated having the frequent emails, text and reminders.We enjoyed and appreciated the house very much. The proximity to the beach and shops was awesome! It was furnished nicely with beach and kitchen equipment however, it was a little too small for 7 of us. Other than the porch (which we loved)there was no place comfortable to sit together. The living room furniture was really uncomfortable and kitchen table was nice but in the middle of everything and only sat 4. The outside area could be wonderful but it was so overgrown, dark and super buggy. Also, we found no blankets for the trundle or pull out couch. We loved the porch. When it wasn't too hot we spent most of our house time there.

We've been going to Union Pier for several years and this was the best location and setup we've had. The welcome bag and virtual guide were nice surprises. The yard was the best we've had and a great setup. Some of the doors were tight and the kids had trouble with them and there was quite a bit of hair in corners and under chairs. All told we would definitely stay there again.

One of our favorite rentals in the area so far! A super comfortable cottage with great decor. We particularly loved the fenced in yard for our dog and the spacious screen porch where we spent most of our time when there. A short walk to the beach and morning coffee shops (and more)!

Amazing place, even better than pictures and the location was divine!! Walkable, bikeable, forested area near the beach. Loved the hot tub and sunlight in the shower. Plenty of towels and linens. So glad I could bring my dog but unfortunately slats in the fence were wide and he could easily escape. Host emailed me a rental agreement which was odd but airbnb resolved issue and would definitely go back and stay again!!! Definitely worth it!!

This was the perfect quiet get-a-way for my husband and myself. We were close to everything if we wanted to go into New Buffalo or up the coast to Sawyer or Stevensville. Shopping for antiques? Yes. Eating fresh food? Yes. Stop at a brewery? Of course. Walks on the beach or in town were great. The cottage is so comfortable though, it is hard to find a better place than the screened in porch. The Bluebird Beach House was the perfect location for an end of summer girl's weekend! The home was lovely (especially the sun porch), very clean and the kitchen was well stocked for a rental—plus coffee filters were in plain sight AKA no hassle ensuring you're caffeinated day one! Third Coast Vacations had our beach chair and paddle board rentals waiting for us when we arrived with no pickup or drop-off. Everything from the beach to local shops (Union Pier & New Buffalo) were easily accessible. We were frequent shoppers at the Whistle Stop Cafe and loved how they and many others stores catered to their clientele allowing us to get all the food we needed without a complete meal plan and grocery haul. All that and it was only 90 minutes back to Chicago on Sunday. Thank you for a great stay!

This property is absolutely a perfect location for both Lake access and downtown. It's gated and great if you bring a furry friend with you. Very clean and has everything you need for a wonderful stay.

I really enjoyed my stay. Loved the screened in porch, fire pit & chairs, beautiful & updated bathrooms, updated kitchen, laundry and all the comforts of home. McKinley is my favorite beach and I loved that it was the closest beach. Saw an abundance of wildlife - deer, bunnies and a fox. It’s a very peaceful place - highly recommend!

We had an incredible stay at the Bluebird Beach House and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Dan was an incredibly attentive and helpful host who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
The house itself was great - it was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The location couldn't have been better - the beach and town (Union Pier) was just a short walk away and it was absolutely beautiful.
